O’Hanlon on the up at First Names Group

First Names Group has promoted Karen O’Hanlon to the position of managing director for its Singapore business, effective immediately.

O’Hanlon moves up from her previous position as director of the Singapore business, a position she has held for two years.

Before this, she was director of client services at Asiaciti Trust, and she has also held positions at HSBC Private Bank and Equity Trust Group.

In her new role, O’Hanlon will lead the First Names Group team in Singapore, building on existing foundations and helping to expand its presence in the Asia Pacific region.

She will also work closely with the Hong Kong team to deliver on the group’s expansion strategies in Asia.

Mark Pesco, CEO of First Names Group, said: “Karen O’Hanlon is a highly experienced professional who I am certain will be an invaluable asset as we continue to attract new business and deepen our footprint in the region. Her promotion is very well earned and I am extremely happy to have [her] leading our Singapore team into 2017.”

“She is a firm believer of our collaborative, client centric, people-focused approach and her impressive track record and proactive personality are important elements which have led her to this next step.”

O’ Hanlon said: “Singapore plays an integral role in our Asia offering, in particular for our corporate and private clients. I look forward to working closely with the international leadership team as well as my colleagues in Hong Kong and Singapore to strengthen the group’s positioning in Asia and grow the business out here.”
